Field Notes

Description:

Mostly speckled brown on the back with a lovely speckled blue on the underbelly. Reasonably large lizard.

Habitat:

Among the ruins of Angkor Wat.

Hi There, thanks. It is really hard to tell, but looking at them both, I don't think it is the long tailed Sun Skink, as it has a definite cream underneath, where as mine has blue. However, the Many Lined Sun Skink, said it does come in changable colours, and listed the colours but there was no blue, so I am now not sure. Unless it is one that isn't seen very often. Hope that makes sense.
It could also be a Many Lined Sun Skink. (the length of the tail is the key characteristic that is different--hard to see in your pictures). Check out this link to differentiate: http://www.ecologyasia.com/verts/lizards/many-lined_sun_skink.htm
