Field Notes

Description:

The photo doesn't show the colour as bright as it was. the yellow was more like gold.

Habitat:

This was in our house. In Lombok Indonesia.

Notes:

This is the only time I have seen this in 14 years in Indonesia.

I think this one is Appensa. http://www.panoramio.com/m/photo/9853646 Other common one might be Argiope modesta, but this one is in my eyes more black/grayish than reddish like yours and Appensa. Quite difficult to ascertain the exact species this belongs to based on the spotting location. We could use a little help from an expert arachnologist.
