Description:

A brown insect looking like a mix between a dragonfly and a wasp. Tail curls at the end naturally but uncurls to show a long needle like stinger.

Habitat:

Forest of staten island ny ( henry kaufman camp grounds)

That long appendage that comes off the abdomen is called an ovipositor and it is for laying eggs. These wasps have no stingers. They are very interesting insects.
