That looks like another similar species. I did not observe any color change, only the fact that I could get the true colors of the spider only on that flower. I think it would be a good idea until someone more knowledgeable about spiders can help us. Thanks.
These spiders can change colour. Did you observe any colour change in the spider? . Maybe it can change its abdominal colour too. It is only a possibility. If it can camouflage so effectively it can also be a Goldenrod Crab Spider - Misumena vatia. I guess it would easier for an arachnologist to name it write. http://bugs.decemberized.com/index.asp?ID=422
Yeah you are right it can't be Diaea dorsata because of the difference in abdominal colour.
I really don't think this is Diaea dorsata, as the abdomen was a neon-like yellow-green, while D. dorsata has a brown abdomen.
yh! thnx for info
I think its because of the difference in quality and time difference between the photographs taken by J and the one in the other site. I thought so because its written in wikepedia that "Like Misumena vatia, this spider can change its color to fit its surrounding; however". And I maybe wrong but I think they are both the same. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaea_dorsata
its a Diaea sp. but not sure abt Diaea dorsata look http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaea_dorsata
but abdomen colour of Diaea dorsata is different
I saw the pictures of green crab spider in the google image search. Thank you Uday for confirming it ,so I think we can put it as Green Crab Spider - Diaea dorsata
hey its not a lynx spider its a green crab spider http://www.dl-digital.com/spider-new2.htm
namithahelen, Thanks for your very nice comment. I think you are right!! You can go ahead and suggest an ID if you would like!
Really good photography [the first one] I think it is a spider in the Araniella genus. It looks like Araniella cucurbitina. But based on the place of citing it can also be Peucetia viridans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peucetia_viridans
