Field Notes

Description:

Not sure if this "worm" thing is an arthropod...

This nasty little dude was nestled up inside my head of leaf lettuce, I found him while getting ready to make burgers for dinner... eew!

It has been in my fridge for 4 or 5 days, so I thought for sure it was dead... but the longer it sat on the counter, while I found the camera... the more alive it came!

It's about an inch and a quarter in length, with marbling brown colors. Lighter head, it's more tan... I thought the end with the brown pile was the back end, but it started moving in that direction when it came to life!

You can just see the little baby slug in the left of the pic... it was a real party in my lettuce!

Habitat:

Garden, in the lettuce (green leaf).
