Field Notes

Description:

Has a bumpy texture. Has no hair and has a lighter shade of green on the back. Leaf arrangement is opposite. As you can see in the photo the leaf curves in one direction. This leaf is infected by a Psyllid. However I am not sure if it is a Syzygium Leaf Psyllid (pimple Psyllid), Asian Citrus Psyllid or any other Psyllid that has infected this leaf. Basically the Psyllid sucks the sap out of the plant causing a bumpy reaction shown on the leaf.

Habitat:

SAS Secondary Rainforest.

This plant has Psyllid it is type mite that does this damage. The mite is so small it can not be seen with the naked eye. But this is the result when the mite sucks juice from the plant. It could be from African Psyllid
