Wildlife Spotting

I bought this at the local nursery, but I would just like to know the species so I can care for it properly. I had to transplant immediately because it was in soaked soil and appeared to be dying (see brown needle tips). It's now in a 3/4 sand 1/4 potting soil mix and I have not watered it because the roots seemed saturated.
