Wildlife Spotting

This may be a citronella ant. It would help to have other views. One of the characteristics of a citronella ant is the tiny black eye relative to the rest of the head and this one certainly has that characteristic. In addition, citronella ants are typically yellow. I just posed a couple of shots taken today of citronella ants at http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/10281125. There are at least two species in eastern North America, one of which is about 4-5 mm in length and the other is considerably smaller (which is the one that I photographed today). There may be other species of ants that match your photo, but I'd start a search with them.
