Field Notes

Description:

I described the phenomenon as "dirt dots" as it feels like finely ground dirt and/or ash.

Habitat:

I found it in the grass of a North facing hill...and the substance was contained in an area of only about 6" x 10".

Notes:

How did it get there? And the substance was, for the most part, on ground ivy and clover...I assume this was happenstance, though.
