Field Notes

Description:

Looks similar to a seahorse. It is about 20cm long and has very small fins. The tail-fin is heart shaped.

Habitat:

Was found in the bay of Okuklje. Blend's in very well in the sea grass. Snake like movement.

You might want to look at trumpet fish (genus Aulostomus) as well. Pipefish have narrower snouts generally I believe.
In Portuguese its called "Marinha" from the familly of sea horses.
Definitely a pipefish but there are so many sub-species i couldn't say which it is
