If you add this to my mission by the end of today, http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8841449, you can earn a special limited edition patch!
There are 2 species which you can't separate unless you make a genital dissection, meaning killing the insect, or DNA-tracing. So these 2 species where included in the so called: Zygaena purpuralis/minos complex. Depending on the location you have from one more than from the other or even one is missing (Minos is missing in the whole Central Europe Alpine region and mostly missing in Italy). If you have a lot of Thymian in your area it might be Purpuralis, but would be a pragmatic ID not actually serious. http://schmetterling-raupe.de/art/purpuralis_s.htm http://www.tagschmetterlinge.de/html/tagfalter/widderchen/purpuralis_zygaena.htm http://www.lepiforum.de/cgi-bin/lepiwiki.pl?Zygaena_Minos_Und_Purpuralis http://www.lepidoptera.pl/show.php?ID=228 http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thymian-Widderchen
