Field Notes

Description:

attractively patterned foliage, smooth and slightly thick and rigid leaf

Habitat:

rainforest, 800m (2500')

Notes:

This was the only plant like this I spotted over 5 days of hiking in Nam Nao national park. I wish I could have caught it in bloom. Not sure if just the foliage will be enough for ID.

It does look a bit like a mini dumbcane. Sidenote, I've actually being seeing Dieffenbachia in the wild during the last week in the Colombian Amazon. So cool to see a common houseplant in its natural habitat.
I really have no idea, but this reminded me a little of dumb cane.
