Field Notes

Description:

Small ants surrounding eggs in a leaf probably from Hemiptera, this little ants are around 5mm large with a pointy black gaster and red head.

Habitat:

Spotted at Taman Cattieya - Jakarta

Notes:

Ants are know to collect eggs from other species like Moths or Hemiptera for protective or food purposes
23 ant species are known in Indonesia.
