Description:

This is some kind of caterpillar that had cut itself a circular leaf and "glued" it to its' back. it was spotted on hibiscus

Habitat:

Tropical humid forest in SW Costa Rica

I wish I could Jolly...this was from a month ago and 600km from my home! Thanks Harsha
It would be nice if you could turn the leaf and photograph the underside. We might still learn something from it.
Trychoptera larvae do the sane, but they live underwater.. I'm not sure what the trychoptera larva looks like from up close, though. At some point they have to come out of the water to turn into a kind of moth.
