Found this guys on my deck on the Niagara Escarpment. Does anyone know what it is?

That is a squash bug. They are justa little different then a stink bug. The difference is the width of the body. I have eliminated many of these on my squah and pumpkins plants.
Let me be the very first to say, Welcome to Project Noah, Gail Lynn Davidson. I believe this bug is commonly called a shield bug or stink bug. The super family is Pentatomoidea. I do not know the exact subspecies of your spotting however.
