Description:

Perforated blades in series with pneumatocyst; alternating branching pattern; intricately branched and saxicolous holdfast.

Habitat:

Kelp commonly found washed up at SoCal beaches.

Notes:

Alga approx. 3 meters long. Holdfast 70 cm diameter.
