Field Notes

Habitat:

Reeds by a lake.

Notes:

To me this looks like an Oriental Reed-Warbler but we aren't supposed to have them down our way. It's definitely got a longer/heavier bill than the Clamorous (which I also saw today) and it was also slightly larger in size. I would love to know what this is!

Sorry Rachael, I did not read your note :) Ill widraw the ID suggestion, since it is already mentioned in the notes :) The link I used for the ID is this one: http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/Acrocephalus-australis It is an interesting spotting, looking forward to see the verdict :)
Thanks Tiz. The Australian Reed-Warbler is also known as the Clamorous Reed-Warbler (which is the most probable answer). I just thought it looked a bit bigger with a heavier bill than that. But maybe it was just the angle.
I am really not sure about this one Rachael, so pls make sure it is confirmed :) Have a good day! Tina
