Species ID Suggestions

Common Nawab

Polyura cf. athamas

Comments (1)

Nymphalidae, Charaxinae, Polyura sp. and looks like being Polyura athamas. But there is not really much reliable info on the net, so I am not 100% sure about the species. There is a great variability within the genus and even within the species depending on the instar and maybe also the season. Early instars often do not have any markings, just a green body. It is similar to Polyura schreiber, the Blue Nawab, which to my knowledge only has one white stripe. Please, verify yourself! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Commonnawab_cat_sec.jpg http://www.learnaboutbutterflies.com/Caterpillar%20-%20Polyura%20schreiber.htm
