Field Notes

Description:

I think these are frogs eggs? I found them on the edge of a small forest water-hole under a log. There were many frogs calling here, but I couldn't find them. The eggs were actually in the water.

Habitat:

Rainforest water-hole. Cape Hillsborough National Park.

These are in a national park about an hour & a half away lori, so I can only visit on weekends. I went there again yesterday & found some more, so will be watching closely when I can get there :)
Probably not a spittle bug, then. Can you keep an eye on it/them?
Ok, thanks Chief RedEarth. @ lori, do they lay their eggs in water I wonder? These were attached to a log on the waters edge. I turned the piece of wood over looking for frogs as we could here them calling all over the place. That's the only reason I had frogs eggs in my head.
My first thought was a spittle bug.
Hmmmm, though after reading up on it, I'm not sure it's found in Australia, or in the wet rainforest habitat that I spotted it.
Thanks for the suggestion Chief RedEarth. It sure looks correct to me!
