Field Notes

Description:

This was a beautiful red flower that I spotted on my hike to Ciudad Perdida in the Sierra Nevada national park. I noticed that this one, and many others of the same species were growing near the river.

Habitat:

The habitat of the flower was in a moist area near the river. I also noticed that it was growing in one of the few areas that got a lot of sun.

Notes:

It looks like a reddish-pink color with kind of sharp leaves.
