Description:

sort of looks like an assassin bug nymph but unsure -- sticklike body and thin legs, long antennae with red eyes.

west central ga

Sorry so late in responding Doren. I really appreciate your feedback and sort of agree it looks like it could be a nymph of Doldina interjungens, but I was stumped when i saw it! lol. I might pop it into bugguide and see if any of their folks can place it :)
Superficially it resembles Doldina interjungens, but it would be a big leap to assume that this is the nymph of that species. https://bugguide.net/node/view/181542
Interesting specimen. I initially assumed that it was a Thread-legged Bug (Emesinae), but all of these have grasping forelegs and only walk on the other four legs. I think this is still likely to be a Reduviid (Assassin Bug), but this is quite a puzzle.
