Field Notes

Description:

When I started shooting, I thought it was some kind of fungus. But then he started walking and I found that was an insect.
I just can't say if it's some kind of Cicada or Hoopoer parasitized, or just a different insect.

Habitat:

I found this specimen in an environmental reserve of the Atlantic Florest, in a mountainous region.

Notes:

Notice the circular structure in the second and third picture. The insect was always within the structure. Only when I started shooting, he was disturbed and left. But he returned shortly thereafter.
