Field Notes

Description:

This beautiful caterpillar was about 2 inches long and half a inch thick in the widest part on its body. This caterpillar was almost the same colour as the leaf it was on - only lighter. It had white markings and some very pretty glowing decorations on its "head". It stayed very still, even when the leaf moved about.

Habitat:

This caterpillar was spotted on a lime tree leaf, and the lime tree was located in the Singapore American School's secondary rainforest.

Notes:

Nobody was really sure if the caterpillar's head was the part with the "eyes" or the other side and the part that looked like the head was a fake to fool predators. Both ways, it was a beautiful caterpillar! :)
