Hi Ashish..i took this pic from a bit far distance (with 30x zoom) so the pic appeared closer...thanks for the below information about this habitat :) :)
This White Back is smallest in this Genus for Indian habitat.
Here is Long Billed... http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?Bird_ID=844&Bird_Image_ID=44256&Bird_Family_ID=&p=20
so i can see they are very similar birds.
Not just family Genus too and Habitat.
But correct me if Im wrong. Both of these birds are in the same family?
Indian Vultures are vanishing due to non organic fodder feed to their prey mostly like Cattle and Sheep. Due to Non Organic fodder Cattle and Sheep get infected with many virus and to their predators (after death) such poor Vultures.
Thanks ashish i see how the neck feathers of the bird is white, indian vulturs have the black feathers around the neck.
Hi KrishnaKedalasara... Like to know how you go close to such great picture of this rare bird... Is it in captive place or you went close to its nest in hills...? Please edit this spotting and fill the story...
Correction Team... taking my words back... Its White Back... Team check Beak colour...
Thanks ashish :D and yeah when i was researching this bird it said it was critically endangered, so im guessing from hunting.
Agree with Team... They also called Long Billed Vulture... They are most common across Western Ghats of India once upon a time... Now very rarely seen in hills.
Really good spotting congrats :D
