Hi camtur and welcome to Project Noah. If you check our FAQs at http://www.projectnoah.org/faq you will find that we have a few rules which you need to follow. Mission also have rules which you need to follow and these are laid don in the creation page which you should have read. Users may only create local missions up to 300 miles radius and may not add spottings outside mission ranges. Global missions are generally for corporate type users only. Your "Night prowlers" mission will need to be downgraded to your local area and this spotting will need removing from that mission. Alternatively, you could alter the mission centrepoint to cover this spotting and remove the Australian spotting from it. Users who prove that they can run missions properly over a period of time may be permitted to broaden their scope in the future.

I agree it looks like a Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus). There's a lot of color variation in them from greyish (like this) to more rusty.
