Description:

Found in backyard amidst a hedge of azaleas. The berries are a beautiful bright pinkish purple, these pics don't do the color justice. There seems to be just the one plant with one main stalk with branches. The berries have a very distinct smell that fades quickly after they have been picked. Can anyone tell mr what this is???

Habitat:

Found in normal backyard hedge of azaleas bushes in Mobile, AL in late summer. Temp is very hot, mid 90s, very humid, lots of rain but there are intermittent dry spells.

Notes:

Please help me I'd this plant!
