:) dont worry everything will be alright! for more details ask a specialist. I knw someone. Norman Larsen - [email protected] For more information http://www.biodiversityexplorer.org/arachnids/spiders/ask.htm
it has an angular and flat abdomen with divits going in and out of it, most closely described as a crab spider but also apparently can be the same thing as an orb weaver (in some cases). wiki
hell yeah it is! but we have it in a tupperware container right now and it acts VERY docile for a spider.
isn't it scary ?
your welcome! :) orb weaver and huntsman spider are scary looking spiders check a orb weaver http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/13979025
and especially thank you to Uday!
yeah i think it is too :) thank God. orb weavers have no venom... according to wiki... its dang scary lookin though! Thanks everyone for your help and concern! :D
Good luck finding an ID and definitely keep an eye on your fiance. You never can be too careful. I agree with Uday that it looks like a type of orb weaver which is good news for you :)
thank you Cindy. i have checked many lists already and it is becoming ever more clear that this spider is not native to CA. i got a giant box of strawberries from a mexican vendor, still in CA, and i think he got in my car that way. thanks for your help! :)
could be a false black widow?
Hi Joshua, just keep an eye on her. Unfortunately I don't know what species this is. The only spiders that I know of in your area that is of great concern are the black and brown widows and this definitely is NOT one of them. There could always be a weird reaction to any bite but they're usually local. Please know I'm not an expert and you should research it yourself.
