Welcome to Project Noah! I think you definitely have the correct Genus for your spider but it might be a different species. Check this out (Redspotted Antmimic, Castianeira descripta): http://bugguide.net/node/view/39869 I don't know if you got a good look at your spider's legs. The difference between the two species is minimal. It looks like PA is in the middle of the ranges of these spiders as well. More info here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/615582 Either way, that is one cool spider! I believe your specimen is a female and if you find that an organism doesn't have a common name you can call it by it's family or subfamily name if it has one. In the case of your spider you can call it "Antmimic Spider" if you wish.
Thanks! Yea I didn't think it was a black widow due to its morphology as well as they have the red mark on the ventral side rather than the dorsal side! Good mimicry though
To me it looks like a black widow, but there are so many different types and species of arachnids that I can't be for sure
