Description:
Shelf mushroom of unknown type, growing on a Kentucky red bud. The mushroom is hard bodied and dry. You can see the inner coloring at the front where a small portion of the mushroom has been removed.
Habitat:
Trunk of a Kentucky Red Bud in our backyard. The weather has been hot and humid, with slight rain in the las few hours.
Notes:
The really interesting thing is the blade of grass growing right through the middle of the mushroom from below. This stuff must be really fast growing.
