Species ID Suggestions

Comments (6)

Guess I have a good excuse to go back! Thanks!
Sorry the third pic does not help either, the wings are absent that close to the flowerheads.
My blister beetle is on this plant. Close up view of stems
I saw the second, I just can not see well enough if there are wings on the stems. Here is a page with good picture of the stems; http://www.missouriplants.com/Whitealt/Verbesina_virginica_page.html Maybe you can recall or tell from the original photo, when I saved the photo and tried zooming in was too pixelated.
Does the second pic help?
I am confident this is not yarrow, if there are wings on the stems, which I can not see in the picture, I would suggest Verbesina virginica.
