Field Notes

Notes:

Found this when a septic tank was pumped. I have no clue what kind of animal it is, but the pics are of various angles of the larger bones found. One is the skull, unsure of the other.

The blurry pic is of the bottom of the skull. I'm not even sure what the other bone might be. I'd love to find out what it is though. Any help would be appreciated.

Also unsure of the general category...

Species ID Suggestions

Wild Turkey

Meleagris gallopavo

First photo is the sternum, second is the pelvis
HarleyWilliamson this is the pelvis and keel bone of a bird. It will be very hard to narrow down the species.
Sorry just realised that link didn't go anywhere! Please try this one as it has a good image of the bird skeletal structure :-) http://www.biologycorner.com/worksheets/comparing_avian_human.html
It looks like a bird diaphragm to me, hard to say chicken or duck! I'm not that good :-) but do checkout this like as it shows an example of some bird bone structures! Hope it helps http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physiology_of_dinosaurs
Welcome to Project Noah HarleyWilliamson Nice first spotting, congrats and thanks for sharing We hope you like the site as much we do; there are many features you can explore: We invite you to go to http://www.projectnoah.org/faq where you will find the purpose and “rules” of Project Noah. There is a blog http://blog.projectnoah.org/ where we post articles from spotters with special insight into different organisms. I bet this is a mammal, so you could probably change it to that.
