I agree with eclipse drake Red-crested Pochard. I would guess this too was at the San Diego Zoo?

It seems to me that this is a red crested pochard (Netta rufina), male outside the breeding season. But then, it is an Old World species, native to Europe and Asie, spending the winters in south Asia or Africa.
