Comments (1)

These lizards are not poisonous and are quite harmless! This is one of three species of skink native to Mississippi: P. fasciatus - Common Five-lined Skink P. inexpectatus - Southeastern Five-lined Skink P. laticeps - Broad-headed Skink But without being able to see the scales, it is impossible to figure out which of the three species it is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plestiodon
