thanks amdurso, well it was taken after rain. so it was wet, n i am afraid of snakes so only this pic i have :( also our region is far away from western ghats
Alex Kupfer says: hard to say…the picture is not very good. Maybe…..Well this find is not located in the typical distribution area of caecilians in India (i.e. Western Ghats). Do you keep more pics? Have you seen any scales? Did you see a stripe?
thanks nuwan and emma
thanks amdurso and cameron!
I have sent this link to Alexander Kupfer, who studies caecilians - perhaps he can help.
i think u r right amdurso, update soon
I think Andrew is correct about this being a caecilian. Not sure which one though. Awesome find!
Also the tail looks keeled on top, suggesting an aquatic caecilian.
I'm not saying it's not. The skin looks too smooth and slimy for a reptile, which is why I though perhaps it was an amphibian (a caecilian).
well it was crawling like a snake so may be its a snake
I'm not sure this is a snake, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe a caecilian?
