Wildlife Spotting

I found this live mouse sleeping on the sidewalk on a warm day 88 F. I thought the mouse was dropped by a hawk, but when I got closer, I saw the mouse was just taking a nap (or sick). I was going to move it onto a large sycamore leaf to move it out of foot traffic and it reacted and ran off. This mouse was twice the size of a small mouse, but half the size of a rat. This mouse had a bushy tail end. Thanks in advance for the ID.
