You have some correct suggestions here - it is a cicada shed. I always think it is so amazing that they are able to wriggle out of that tiny hole! Please can you update the spotting now you have an ID so that we can take it off of the unidentified list. Thanks!
I agree, it is definitely a cicada skin left after molting.
Must be mold of a Plant-hopper. Its a shaded skin.
It looks like a cicada to me. But I wouldn't know exactly which one.
