Field Notes

Description:

They live together in groups of roughly 20-30 individuals and inhabit the pond. Close to humans and not afraid of them. I brought some food to feed them. They were very happy and would flap their wings and twist their heads to show their happiness or appreciation.

Habitat:

The habitat is the edge of the pond, where most of them roost and a few wander around the grass.

Notes:

Both of these different birds are friendly and do not fight with each other. The duck is a much slower runner, and there is a distinct leader among the ducks, characterized by a bright red and large crown. The eyes are intimidating. While I was feeding, the leader came up to me and wiggled its head and watched me closely, which surprised me.

Hello wyd2047215665, Welcome to Project Noah. Nice spottings...the first one is a Muscovy duck or almost one anyway. The second one is not a duck and thus, merits a page of its own. You can check the link to read up on Muscovy ducks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscovy_duck Hoping to see many more spottings from you...each new one on its own page.
