Field Notes

Description:

A beetle - probably a longhorn (Cerambycidae) beetle - with an extremely elongated thorax. 3.5 cm in length excluding antennae.

Habitat:

Found in degraded forest scrub on the banks of a creek on the campus of Pacific Adventist University, Papua New Guinea.

Notes:

This is the third specimen I have found, so they are relatively common, but I have no idea of identification.

I found: http://www.lamiinae.org/80v/index.php?pg=clm&id=44086-3481&lg=en&or=1 which seems to indicate this is the correct genus. Species might be harder. thanks for the assist, I'd love any more contacts or info that you have. Living in PNG is wonderful but frustrating as their are very few books or websites with relevant info.
