Field Notes

Description:

White puffy egg sac with smaller pellet shaped things inside. My last one washed away in the storm so this time I brought this in to see what hatches.

Apparently Micrograstrinae wasp cocoons can be about 1/2 inch...
Omg that image is a massive egg sac! This one was much smaller... maybe 1/2 inch tip to tip. I found several and they seem to wash away rather quickly if they get rained on or touch water, so I never saw if anything became of tbem
I randomly came across an article that had a similar image but I can't find it! I'll check your link soon to compare. Thank you
