sorry about that, to be honest I really had no clue what the study of Osteology is. Thank you for clearing that up for me, much appreciated! :)
Hi DaneCole, It paines me to do this because this is wuch an awesome find, but would you mind removing this spotting from the Osteology Mission? Osteology is actually the study of vertebrate bones. It's a detailed study of the structure of bones, the skeletal elements, teeth, morphology, function and disease. Osteology aids in identifying vertebrate remains with regard to age, death, sex, growth, and development. Thank you for your understanding! :)
Yeah I will probaby ask your help, as I don't know anyone in Ontario LOL Anyways I am really happy to find another person with a keen interest in fossil hunting. Hoping to see more fossil spottings.
If you ever come to Ontario, email me and will have to do a fossil hunt lol
Thank you so much Namitha! I find it alot of fun going down to the river in search of fossils. I appreciate the insight, really had no idea what to start looking for when it comes to an I.D. I will gladly check your fossil out ~
Awesome find. I am an avid fossil collector, I collect them for fun. You are very lucky to be able to collect fossils from river banks, sounds pretty cool. I am not an expert or anything. It looks like an ammonite fossil. I have ammonite fossils and this looks very similar, but it could be some other molluscan. Hope you will be able to ID it soon looking forward to it. This is one of the molluscan fossils [not similar to this one I thought I would share it] I collected from a Cretaceous period fossil site in Tamil Nadu http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/14499047
