Field Notes

Description:

I was walking by a suburban garden when I saw this flower and took a picture. The plant has waxy green leaves with dark purple tips and the flower is supported by a fleshy stalk. The flower itself has white, ridged petals in a tight bud. I'm afraid I haven't been able to identify the species as of yet, and I am not sure if the if the flower has reached full bloom yet which may make it more difficult. If anyone has any species suggestions please let me know in the comments.

Habitat:

Compost, temperate garden environment.

Species ID Suggestions
