Species ID Suggestions

metallic skink

Carinascincus metallicus

Carinascincus metallicus is not known to occur in Hawaii as far as I can tell, unless you have some sources indicating otherwise I would doubt that this photo is that species. Metallic skink or Garden Skink (Lampropholis delicata) is listed as introduced to the island. See https://www.inaturalist.org/check_lists/309-Hawaii-Check-List?iconic_taxon=26036 and http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Field-Herping/Herping-In-Hawaii/
However, the head seems to elongated in this picture, maybe it doesn't matter? But just a thing I noticed.
You might be right @Saturniidae27, it looks the same to me as well :D
it looks to me like Lampropholis delicata, because in the picture in my link, and in this spotting, have a bronze shade on the top side of the body. Here is the link (: http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/species?genus=Lampropholis&species=delicata
I think this might be the Delicate Garden Skink, as the start of the tail-section is similar to this species, however the picture is a bit blurry so I'm not able to make any more detailed indetification. It fits the geographical area and color as well. But I might be wrong. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/38293-Lampropholis-delicata
Hello rachellemozeleski and welcome to the Project Noah community! Project Noah is a tool for people to learn about wildlife, share wildlife spottings, build nature journals and engage in citizen science. Here you will find a friendly community of people passionate about wildlife and conservation. This is a nice first spotting, thanks for sharing it with us – just please bear in mind to fill the form as much as you can. If you don’t know the organism, describe at least the place where the organism was potted in “Habitat” paragraph; as that information can help to identify it. If you need any more information about the functioning of the site, please visit our FAQ section here: https://www.projectnoah.org/faq We hope you enjoy our website and community as much as we do! Enjoy yourself, learn, share and see you around. Cheers
