Description:

At first, I was thinking they could be wheel bug nymphs, but they lacked characteristic markings.

Thanks Jen and Maria! Thanks for the suggestion, ruchats, I think you are on to something, though I do not think it is the same species. Notice how the spikes are larger, and there is no black "shield" on its body, as in the speices page: http://bugguide.net/node/view/699148/bgimage
