Low growing, sticky seed pods connected in a chain, Velcro-like, three-leaf clusters. Soil loose and gravelly. Shady.

Habitat:

Ponderosa pine forest, mountainous, 5800 feet elevation. Prescott National Forest.

Notes:

Sticks to shoes, socks, clothing when walking by
