Field Notes

Description:

I think this is a hermit crab but not sure what type. It has yellow tips on its legs. It was in the rock pools at Caloundra.

Habitat:

Coastal rock pools.

Notes:

These are everywhere and I've never taken much notice, however this little guy was crawling around quite quickly so we stopped to take a photo.

Sweet. And the little shell this fellow has chosen once belonged to a wavy top periwinkle (Austrocochlea concamerata). Nice spotting.
Yes I think so but not sure of the name.
