They are close relatives to sandhoppers, but most of these species live on land as far as I have read
Actually I did some more reading just now and found out that it is closer related to these animals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crustacean, my info is outdated...sry!
It is a woodlouse, with over 3000 species world wide I have no idea what species this one is. This group might be more than 300 million years old and are the modern insects ancestors ;)
