Description:

One of the most beautiful lichens I've ever seen. From a distance, it appeared to be a whitish slime mold.

Thanks very much, Livian! They do look quite similar. Perhaps a lichenist could interject here. :) I think Parmelia sulcata looks too simple. What do you think?
I'm not sure about Lichens at all, but seems to be one of the Shield Lichens. Searching on line, I think it's a Flavoparmelia caperata (Wrinkled shield or Common green shield) or also looks like Parmelia sulcata (Hammered Shield or Cracked Shield Lichen.)
