Description:

Their shape and immobility points to the fact that they are some pupae, maybe some fly's. But I have no idea why the larvae would all gather on such exposed surfaces to pupate.

Habitat:

Myristica swamps.

Notes:

Any help with the identification will be appreciated.

No, unfortunately I couldn't. Yeah, this seems to be really mysterious. I am not sure if shed off skins would stay stuck like this. There also seems to be a pattern in there, I mean they are in little clusters, liying side by side. Wish this gets identified soon!

Very intriguing...have you revisited this place? I wonder what became of these...really open to predation I would think pupating like this. Perhaps these are cast off skins after moulting? ?? I saw some dragonfly exuviae on leaves .
