Species ID Suggestions

Hi Ryan, you actually may not get a species ID without images of the underside. Many of my Orb Weaver spottings aren't ID'd because of this very reason. There is a pretty good reference for organisms for OC. Since it's a nearby county, many are the same so it's a good place to start. http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/ Please consider adding your So-Cal spottings to the Southern California Wildlife mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/7964554
kunzah, according to Bugguide, it is known to occur in California. I don't know how common it is there, though.
I agree with ForestDragon. It's a species that's new to California.
It looks a lot like Neoscona crucifera: http://bugguide.net/node/view/28154 See what you think.
