Momordica dioica. Spiny gourd. The spines are soft and edible. This looks to me very much like the vegetable we eat when it is green. In Bangla we call it Kakrol. If it ripens it looks like your spotting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momordica_dioica
